Pattern i112, SPRING SONG by Taetia McEwen for Inspiration Studios, Featuring Surface Embroidery
Delightful spring scene of delicately shaded flowers, dainty bird and nest with three blue eggs.
Inspirations Studios describe this project:
"Arching stems of sky-blue cornflowers and pale pink jasmine flowers are interspersed with Queen Anne’s lace and daisies, stitched with a combination of silk and cotton threads, beads and sequins.
Branches of pink blossom, unfurling in the sunlight, form a perfect resting place for a small bird and her nest, containing three, beautifully speckled, pale blue eggs."
This booklet includes complete instructions and full size pattern. 11 pages, full color illustrations and a list of required supplies are all included. The project uses a variety of solid and variegated colors stranded cottons from DMC, Silks, Beads, and Sequins. You can see all the beads and threads in close up photos and, I am sure, can substitute what is hard to find with what you have. I do.
The background fabric is plain silk dupioni, color seashell. You can decorate the background as shown on the picture with watercolor pencils available at craft stores. Guidelines for doing that are provided.
Close up photo is provided to see stitches in detail. Special techniques and colorwork are shown step by step in photos with explanations and directions. The entire work order is described step by step in details.
Perfect for medium-level to experienced stitchers.
